What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a range of synthetic or natural substances that are used for soft tissue augmentation. In many cases this is an aesthetic choice for women and men alike who are looking to counter some skin conditions that normally occur with ageing. Dermal fillers, such as as the Restylane can be used to smooth out unwanted, lines, wrinkles and folds, as well as restore and replace volume to facial features such as the cheeks and chin, and lips. You can learn more about how Restylane fillers work for you by visiting our treatments.
Restylane fillers are a range of aesthetic anti wrinkle treatments using a gel that closely resembles your body's own hyaluronic acid. The Restylane gel is injected into the skin through a fine needle or cannula in small quantities to support your skins structure and provide youthful volume. There are a number of Restylane filler products, each specifically designed to meet your different treatment wishes, take a look in this section to see what Restylane can do for you.
Restylane Skinboosters - Hydrate your skin from within
Whilst the Restylane filler range will smooth away unwanted wrinkles and folds, adding volume to your skin - treatment with the Restylane skinbooster range can help hydrate your skin for a radiant glow. Restylane skinboosters, improve skin elasticity and overall hydration, helping to minimise the appearance of fine lines.
Similar to Restylane Fillers, Restylane skinboosters are gels used in aesthetic treatments to treat the overall condition of your skin. Based on a hyaluronic acid gel closely resembling your body's own, Restylane skinboosters are designed to balance the nutritional environment of the skin.
A series of tiny injections are made resulting in improved skin tone and skin elasticity. Skinbooster treatments with the Restylane range hydrate the skin and are perfect for treating the face, hands, neck and décolletage, where over exposure to the sun can cause premature ageing. Visible improvements to the skin can be seen after an initial course of treatments* resulting in healthy skin with a beautiful glow (see our before and after pictures).
Restylane Skinboosters are also clinically proven to improve skin elasticity and reduce surface skin roughness.

The history of Restylane dermal fillers & skinboosters
Restylane is based on a unique form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in your skin. The story of Restylane began in 1996 when Dr Bengt Ågerup found a natural way to refresh and revitalise the skin.
He found that the quality of skin decreases with age and impairs its ability to bind water, leading to dull, ageing skin. Hyaluronic acid, a natural substance in the skin plays an important part in this process. By using a slightly stabilized form of hyaluronic acid and therefore slowing the speed at which it degrades in the body, water can be retained over a longer period of time. This increased ability to bind and hold water increases elasticity and fullness of the skin.
This technique is now known as patented NASHA™ technology that all Restylane skinbooster and filler products are built upon.
Since the first Restylane products were launched the range has expanded to provide a number of dermal fillers and skinboosters to help aesthetic practitioners meet your individual treatment needs. We continue to look into research and development of new products designed to assist you in reaching your full potential.
